We stayed at La Vista for six days. Do not be put-off by the minimalist, small bedrooms—this hotel is a gem. The public onsen (outdoors and indoors on the roof) is magical, especially in December-January in the snow. I have been to several onsen in Japan and this is top notch—new, clean, well-maintained, extra toiletries and amenities, new massage chairs, etc. The 3 private onsen is an added bonus, as my husband has tattoos and could not go into the public one. I tried all 3 private onsen and the public one beats them all, in my opinion. Lots of reviewers discuss the breakfast, which is excellent with many choices, such that I always had something new to eat/try over the week. The free laundry (minimal fee to use the dryer), as well as the free yakult, free apple jello, free ramen, and free ice cream really make this a standout property. The extra amenities make it well-worth the price, in my opinion. Several properties in Furano with onsen are aging (the Shin Furano Prince Hotel chief among them, but Highland Furano even worse), so once you see the rest of the onsen in the area, it gives you a perspective of just how great La Vista is. What sets La Vista apart from other hotels in my opinion is the dedicated and very hard-working staff who try their best to bridge the language barrier and provide kind and patient service. They make excellent local restaurant recommendations, and the lady in charge of breakfast check-in is truly wonderful and we will miss her. We look forward to returning to La Vista with our kids. It is a family friendly property to the max—they have thought of everything. I hope when I go to book again it is not full! It has so many great reviews I fear that everyone will go there now! But really—skip the rest of the properties. Even though it’s not the closest to snowboarding, you can get the Lavender bus for $1.80 and enjoy the charming town.

The property was very close to Furano city centre and close to “Waves” - the ski/snowboard rental shop which offered a free shuttle bus to the snow fields. There was a public bath for men and women separate but also 3 private baths which could be used up to 30 min without reservation (men and women can go in together in the private baths). After the bath, you can go into a resting room where there is free ice popsicles in the evening or free yakult in the morning. There is also a room full with manga and 2 massage chairs. Couldn’t really make use of the manga since it was all in Japanese but just the fact that they offered that just shows the level of customer service. The hot bath and the massage chairs really saved us after a long day at the snow fields. The bath and resting area as well as the coin laundry were on the same level. So convenient and well thought out. Staff was super friendly, even was attempting to book a cheese making class at the Furano Cheese Factory for us as per our request but the cheese factory was already closed when we asked the front desk to help us but nevertheless, they were willing to help and provided as much information as they could. Room was spacious for Japanese standards with a little hallway to store luggage and jackets, separate shower and toilet and of course the bedroom.

We love this hotel. Rooms are clean, hotspring is great. Even have 3 free private hot spring rooms which families can use for up to 30 mins each time. Lots of free items. Morning after hotspring there are free yakult drinks, evening changed to ice lollies, hershe ice-cream with waffle, 10 pm onwards free Ramen in the restaurant for hotel guests. Washing and dryer also a plus point. Daily free pudding is a surprise too! Nearby lots of eateries. All within 3 to 5 mins walk in the snow. There is a pastry shop called shinya 5 mins walk from hotel which serves many yummy cakes and deserts. Hotel also offer discounted ski pass at yen 6000 instead of yen 6500. They also have special offers from K-Sports where you can rent ski equipment at 30% cheaper than Prince hotel with free transfer to snd from ski resort. Hence Even if you don't drive it is not a problem to travel from the shop to ski resort. Super nice staff there too! Highly recommended! Needless yo say all the free hot coffee, tea, juice and oolong tea at the lobby are super conveniently for the guests to enjoy.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, using it as a base to visit surrounding areas even as far as Sapporo. Longest driving duration was about 2 hrs only. The hotel’s breakfast was fantastic with many choices of Japanese, Chinese & Western dishes. Free coffee, tea, orange juice throughout the day. Most enjoyable thing is the free ice creams (many choices of flavours) & Yakault after the Onsen. Only 3 private Onsen suites available, so need to try your luck as there’s no reservation system. Public transit Onsen pools are sufficiently large for around 10 people & has indoor & outdoor pools. Parking lots are sufficient but need their transport to fetch driver to & fro if parked further away from the nearest carpark next to hotel. Within walking distance, there’s is well stuffed pharmacy cum minimart & few famous local restaurants are also within walking distance. Though we lost 1 of our room card, the hotel was kind enough to waive off the replacement fees. 👍 It was a pleasant stay for my family & we look forward to come back if we are visiting Hokkaido again.

The staff are nice and friendly even though they are not fluent in English, they will try their best to understand their customers. I have stayed in the hollywood twin room, it's small but very clean. (The room might not be big enough to place large luggage case opened on the floor) Onsen is the best part of this hotel For people with tattoo but want to go to the public onsen, you can ask for skin color stickers at the front desk for free. Ski Free locker for ski equipment. Though there are comments saying there is free ski shuttle bus, they DON'T offer this service anymore. For transportation in the morning, whether you have to take a bus "御料線" at Furano JR station at 8:10am, and get down at the stop "4線", and then walk around 15 minutes to the ski area, or take a taxi for 2,500 yen one-way. For those who need ski rental, you can go to the Wave rental (search K-Sports on Google map), which is 3-min walks from the hotel, and they offer shuttle bus to the ski area.
